Hi all,

Think I've put my location in my profile? I couldn't see the exact field under 'edit your details', so just put it in my biography.

I'm based in San Francisco, have signed up for a woodworking class at SOMA Clayroom in the City. We're going to be learning how to make utensils, cutting boards, and wooden spoons.

I'm also trying to help a neighbour sell some vintage machinery they've had in their basement for 20+ years. Looking to get a rough idea of how much the machines are worth. Got recommended to check out this forum after posting on Reddit. Once I've done 5 posts I'll post some pics/links and get some opinions. Looking forward to learning!

Thanks Dreamer, was in Texas recently and loved it, had an amazing BBQ Pork sandwich in Dallas. Loads of space out there for proper houses and garages. Have to make do with hand tools at the kitchen table in my little apartment in SF but will make it work.

Welcome to the forum from Coronado (across the bay from San Diego). I have fond memories of living in "The City", San Francisco early in my Navy career.

Welcome from the east bay. Used to work in SOMA before moving further out in the burbs.

If you don’t mind PMing me a list or link once you compile all of your neighbors stuff. Am looking out for a drill press and bench grinder although somehow manage to justify to myself that I need a new to me “old” tool for some reason after joining GJ.
