Hi!
I found this site by a lucky accident! All I can say is WOW! My story:
I've been renting a shop/garage for the past 10+ years. It was built in 1939-40, and started it's life as a furniture shop, complete with a front showroom. I found it with all the windows broken, the flat roof caved in, swinging garage doors lying on the ground, and full of trash and debris. I worked a deal with the landlord for low rent for the first 5 years if she paid for the materials, and I provided the labor. I'm still here 10 years later, with only one very small rent increase. I hope to do a Mobil Gas Station mock-up similar to the station my grandfather owned and operated from 1942 thru 1974.
I have a 1 picture album now, but once I scan the pics I have, I'll add them to the album. There are a lot of great garages here, I hope to learn(steal ideas) from your talented group!
Rick

Welcome Rick, I drive through Atglen almost everyday. I live in Quarryville and work in Avondale. I love this Forum, It is a little addictive though. Your garage sounds cool, do you have any pics of the renovation? Jump on the garage gallery and post up some pics of it. Glad to have you here and look forward to talking to you later. :)

Hi Crazytrain! Cool! A local GJ guy. I've done a lot of work on/in the garage, but most pics are not digital. I have to hook my scanner up to this computer and scan some pics. The original occupant was also the builder...he had a furniture shop in here. I converted it to a 5 Jeep, or 4 car/truck garage. I'm now down to one useable bay, thanks to putting an apartment in the back, and an office and storage bay in the front. I'll add some pics now, but will get the 'before' pics up eventually. Rick
