I'm happy to join this great forum and looking forward to getting advice, and maybe helping when I can!

I'm in my 50s and moved into the current rancher 2yrs ago, and self-taught myself a lot of home repair during my 20yrs in the previous place. I'm pretty comfortable with lighting/ electrical, so-so with structural, and **** at plumbing.

Have an attached 2 car garage with a 66 Charger 4spd street car and a 68 Hemi Dart clone drag car. I do all of my own car work except machining, and like to MIG even though I do it ugly.

There is a 14x14 stick shed I want to move across the back yard so that will be something I will be asking about. Also to put in a 3-board fence.

I've already gotten a lot of help from just lurking here. Thanks in advance for your time and thoughts!

Conn: well first off the GJ rule is if you mention cool cars or tools you need to post plenty of pictures of them. so after that the rules get easier. ;)

Most of us **** at plumbing probably because we don't do it often enough and doing an hour job in 4 hours with all the trips to the hardware store don't help. then putting the tools and skills away for another 5 years to try and find them and your memory then are not easy. good luck with that and other than being a professional plumber you are amongst friends.

cheers and welcome and don't forget to post those pictures. if you have them saved to your computer just click on the paperclip above where you write your posts and attach them sort of like an email.

good luck (cool Avatar picture too)

Welcome aboard. Where at in SJ are you? I'm in Atco.

My first car was a 67 charger (383 automatic) you don't see too many.

I've had the Charger since 99, had to go to Tennessee to find a decent 4spd one. It's a 383 pretty close to stock, and I haven't ran it at Atco in 10yrs or so, but it managed 13.6 at 101mph.

The Dart I've had since 1982, and its been a couple years since I raced it, runs 9.2 at 145mph, 3400lbs, footbraked, in its current config of Hilborn injection on methanol. Here's some older pics when I ran it with the magnesium crossram and gas carbs, that ran about 9.8s. I have to trim these down pretty far to load.

Jamie you're right, not many 1st gen Chargers, seem to be a love it or hate it look (I love it!).

I'll add a couple more of the Charger. Most people like it better than the Dart, which I don't get - the Dart has more than twice the power and I totally engineered everything in it. Maybe that last part is why!

Conn: thanks for the pics of your cars. Is the avatar picture your handle name or do tell us that rare bird's name?
