Last summer I sketched out what I wanted for a new garage / shop. A 24 x 26 detached garage with a roof line that matched our house.

It took me a lot longer than I ever imagined to stick frame the roof. One person operation, it was quite a workout.

One-man operation? It's looking good; love the look of the doors. Rain is Mother Nature's way of telling you to work indoors. lol The PNW is breaking historical records for rain in the month of March; I'm sick of the wet too!

I did farm out to have the excavation and concrete work done. I put up one wall and decided to get some help on the other three, it was too slow winching it up by myself. Having four people to just tilt them into place was a lot faster.
The ceiling span uses 24' long 2 x 12"s, 12 inches on center, I got help putting those up as well. They were a little bit green and weighed a lot. Even with two people it was a heck of a workout.
The rest of the framing I did on my own. I used a combination of a hand winch and an electric hoist to move materials to the work area. Putting up the 26' ridge beam on my own was time consuming but a very fun challenge.
I'm just about ready for my rough in electrical inspection and then I can start the siding. I'm pretty happy with the look of the doors.
And yes, the rain is getting old!
