Hey guys, long time lurker here.

I'm hoping to build my first house+garage within the next year, and would like to get some pointers on finding a GC and other advice. Is there a specific part of this forum I should post this is in? Thanks!

Tip: do you already own the property and have building permits to build? if you need any local help you might post up a few questions and get to know a few of the locals here on the PNW thread I started.

Hi Tip,

I'm currently building in Olalla. I suggest that you find land with a house on it.
It cost us a ton of money to build and a year after we bought the land before we could start.
$110,000 for the land
$30,000 for SDAP and permits.
Then we start building...
We built at huge garage first - 4500 sq feet. $350,000
last week septic system $20,000
we did the pour for the house today another $20,000
You need to remember we are doing 100% custom.
