The lower climbing pin does not sit all the way in the large runner. Looks like it is setting on the edge. Does this look right? Here are a few pictures.

I wouldn't be comfortable with that simply from a wear aspect. It sure looks if like you actually used it on a regular basis the pin would eat away the casting and create a wobble point or possibly jamb up at a most inopportune moment. Another issue but also not knowing how much play there is, the pin could hyper extend inwards and jamb up or down.

I've got a brand new one here To install on a jeep build. I'll have to take a closer look today and see if it's the same as yours. Having never used one I'm not familiar with the mechanism.

Btw, I'm looking at this on a phone soooo ;)

Did you ever get a chance to look at your jack?

Did you ever get a chance to look at your jack? Just trying to get some confirmation on this. For anyone else, the second picture shows it pretty well.

Sorry Blake. I got busy the other day and it skipped my mind.

But today I did take a good look and to sum it up there's no way I'd accept that. Being that's the jack handle lock pin assembly it'll see continuous use and all the pressure of the jack. With it not fully engaged into the casting I feel it'll get cocked and become a quick wear point plus put undo stress on the bore and casting.

This picture is were it's fully locked after jacking

This is with the pin released during the return stroke. I honestly feel there's far to great a chance that pin will end up cocked in the bore at probably the worst possible moment or even break the edge of the casting off.

Thanks LXCam, I have sent HI-LIFT customer service a e-mail Friday about it, but have not heard anything back from them. When I do I will let you know what they say.
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

Well I'm beginning to think that highlifts customer service is a little bit lacking. Have not heard anything from them yet.
