i just built a 30x40x16 high block garage, and im in paint stage..probably white? but any one know what type i should use? im thinking a high gloss "oil base" any input? thanx, dave in arizona
I would definitely not put a high gloss paint on the walls. Depending on how much you are going to use your garage will dictate how what type of paint to use. If you have lots of moisture and will be getting things dirty....you should probably go with an oil base as you'll be able to scrub/wash as necessary. If you aren't planning on getting things dirty, a latex paint will work just fine. Many are somewhat "scrubbable" according to their labels as long as you are somewhat gentle.
im in hot/sunny arizona..we dont see much moisture, infact it as dry as a popcorn fart here. and it will be more of a show garage than a heavy use garage. i really do want a washable paint..think i should do an oil base? thanx, dave
well i tried oil base on 1 small wall(8'x4'),looks like ****..a yellow tint! so going to do the ultra white water base. it looks much brighter white! thanx a whole bunch guys...hope to have pics soon.. dave
