I was going to suggest Williams but in my catalog the hex bit socket sizing begins at 3mm.

Give Snap-on customer service a call. Every time I have encountered an out-of-stock on the web site they have been able to either ship from another warehouse or provide a date when stock is available.

I used the same proto 2.5mm for a few years without any issues, i bought it as part of a set that went from maybe 2mm-8mm if i remember right. Liked them so much i ended up buying sets for everyone in the dept ( company credit card), never heard any complaints and i believe they are still being used. Think i bought them through MSC supply
