Hello all at Garage Journal,
Been Lurking for a few days, Thanks to MP@C and his welding info. i felt impelled to join this Group.
About myself, I'm retired from working as storeman for Guy Broad Parts in Coventry working with XK Jaguars for the last 25 odd years, so not a fan of Jags but am an Americanophile if there is such a word!
Have a C10 Chev. 1/2 ton in dire need of rust eradication hence my great fortune in stumbling across MP@C's thread on welding (again Many Thanks).
Also have in build progress a 1928 Model A Ford Phaeton hot rod with a French Flathead V8 @ T5 gearbox it's been in 'progress' about 12 years!
The C10 is an EX-USAF airfield vehicle formerly stationed somewhere in France. The engine is the 250-6 cyl. with integrated head and yes, it still runs, oh it is a 1979 model with the big front disc brakes (FA44) if I remember correctly and 12 bolt rear axle not 4x4 but has 5 bolt wheel pattern.
Anyway enough about me, I want to get back to reading all you fellows impressive and thought provoking postings.
