I need confirmation on a diagnosis please. Working on a HID underwater fish light.
I measure 300V and 0.35A on the lamp cable. The lamp does nothing. I checked the capacitor. It’s rated 10uf @ 400V. It tests about 8 uf. I substituted a 15uf I had laying around and still no light.
My suspicion is a bad bulb.
The bulb is sealed in a housing and it is supposed to go back to the manufacturer when it needs to be replaced. Otherwise I’d have tried a new bulb.
Thoughts?
