Hidden wiring

Hello all bought a house this fall and in the garage I have a junction box with 1 set of wires to it but it has no power anyway to find where he wires come from

Only thing to do is open up other things around and check connections. Check for tripped gfi outlets and breakers.

Check in your consumer unit for unused cables and test them for continuity. It's going to be the most likely place the cable is going to.

I have checked all gfi plugs and retripped all breakers. Also opened all outlets and looked for unused wires I will open up the panel and look again

Could be an old wire that doesn't do anything. Another thing is it could be on a switch somewhere out of the area. Hard to figure it out without actually being there.

Just power up the end in the junction box and wait for the smoke - that will be where the wires come from....

(uummm, just kidding! Never do that!)

Check the wires for voltage 1st. If no voltage connect a wire tracer to the end you have found. You should be able to pick up a wire tracer for $20-30 at a hardware or home store.

Wire tracer worked good thanks they had them barely stocking out in the back of a outlet box with two other sets of wire
