I have a three car garage with 12 foot ceilings. The current lighting is 4 fixtures and each fixture has 2 four foot standard florescent bulbs. Can I just switch these out for brighter high bay fixtures with 4 t8 bulbs in each?

Mine have a wierd flicker. we don't care as we don't go into the area often (at work) but a quick google search says it reduces the life of the bulbs.
If you could change at least one or two of the fixtures to the 4 bulb t5's they will blow you away...
they are so bright and the bulbs last a long time.
we use them down to -20 and they are way brighter than the 8 footers.
Packaged from the electrical wholesalers here they are aroun $140 including bulbs.
Cheers

Yes you can switch to highbay fixtures. Just be mindful of the focal spread of the reflector so you don't end up with bright spots. 12 foot ceiling is at the low point for highbay fixtures.

Thank you tornadocaster. Do you have a link to the electrical wholesalers? I am new here and still trying to find my way around.
