At home I use the normal "industrial" style air fittings, that you can get from HF, Home Depot, Lowes, your local Auto Parts store.....

At work, we use Milton P style on 3/8'' hose, for regular air tools, and we use Milton G style on 1/2'' hose, for 1'' impacts and large tools.

I recently had to bring my 3/4'' impact home, and swapped the air fitting. It was just HORRIBLE with the industrial fittings. I directly threaded it in to my hose reel, and it worked just fine.

Yes, my home setup is high flow, 1/2'' pipe from the compressor, 1/2'' in and out of air drier, and 3/8'' hose on reel. The air coupler is the biggest restriction.

So, what do you guys use for high air flow? I am leaning towards the Milton P style, but it would be expensive to fit my whole setup.

Not looking for large fittings such as a Milton G style, just normal fittings for use on 1/4'' pipe thread. And more economical.

I went with Milton v style. Not US made unfortunately, but made a world of difference on my single stage setup. They seem to be good quality so far...

You sure your hose is 1/2 and not the more common 3/8? If the hose is 3/8 you'll probably choke the impact no matter what fittings you use. I'd plumb a special drop with a larger hose and a special fitting specific for that gun.

My bad, it is 3/8'' hose, 3/8'' pipe fitting on the end. I do have an extra run for my 3/4'' impact now, using G style fittings.

My real issue isnt just running the 3/4'' gun, it was more so as a "wake up call" that my air fittings are ****.

So, to be clear, I am looking for high flow fittings to use on 3/8'' hose, 1/4'' pipe thread.

Milton V-Style, all the way.

I looked in to these extensively, and we actually use some in one building at my work. I like the P style better, maybe just personal preference, (feels more solid and robust).

So, I ended up going with P style, main reason being, it is familiar, and all my tools at work have that fitting on them, so if I need to bring one home I dont need to change fittings.

Ordered up a bunch of *******, and a few disconnects. A little pricey, but should be a good investment. Ended up being about $50 for 16 *******, and 3 disconnects.

Cool cool!

I ended up going V-Style after dealing with a bunch of leaky M-Style stuff.

I dig that the V-Style is a push-on coupler, and still accepts M-Style.

It's also spec'd at 74CFM vs. the 68CFM of the P-Style, which, admittedly, I'll never push through it, even with my monster compressor.

I'm sure the P-Style stuff will work perfectly for you, especially if it's actual Milton-produced stuff, and not generic.

Heck, I'm sure the M-Style stuff would have worked in perpetuity for me if they were quality parts, but if I'm going to replace it all, might as well go bigger/better.

I really dig that the P/V stuff mitigates the need for larger pipe/hose in a lot of respects.

3/8 hose and P style is the best flow, max flow 1/2 hose and P style.

Why aren't all couplers high flow couplers?

I hate bottle necks

Bc people think they don't do anything. Yes this is true.

I switched everything to high flow last year and couldn't be happier. Night and day different.

Exactly my thoughts. The V style is spec'd at a slightly higher flow rate, but I don't think it would be possible for me to dump nearly that much air thru one. Anyway, my water separator restricts a bit.

P-style are legit Milton, made in USA. So very glad about that.

It does seem like V style is more readily available, my Northern Tool carries them.

While you may never have 60 CFM through the fitting (or even half of that), that doesn't mean they don't still benefit you. Because they offer less restriction, they result in a less PSI drop. So even for a 5CFM tool, high flow fittings will benefit you- especially on long piping/hose runs.
