I think I'm in the market to get a set of "High performance" 0 offset double box end long wrenches. I see that snap on, Mac, and genius makes them. Any other brands I should consider?

I've got the Snap-On set in metric and they are excellent. Recently
I handled the revised Cornwell set and I'm highly impressed. They might give the S/Os a fight for the title. I always have to fight the urge to buy them

yes. i had thought they were shorter compared to the non-ratcheting versions the OP is asking about but checked and they're not so i stand corrected.

I have a pretty full set of the Snap-on ones and noticed they make shorter ones. The collector in me is intrigued but I can't see a use for them. Anybody here ever see them or use them?

I'm with you, I can't really see a use for them but if I found them in a pawn shop or used for a steal I couldn't resist.

I use and highly recommend the Gearwrench XL box wrench set. Price is about $150 on the net.

I have both sae and metric cornwells I got for a steal with my guy called her quits. They are very nice wrenches that I do find use for them.

Hm. The gearwrench gearbox xl is really interesting. It could potentially replace my combos, ratcheting wrenches, and 60degree offset wrenches all in one.
BTW, what are people calling the new style of the box end where one side is flush, and the other side extended to reach intorecessed areas?

the snapon set skips sizes so I got the xl gearwrench and I absolutely love them I am referring to the ratcheting sets only though which I strongley reccomend!!!

The cornwell set is spline and also flush on both ends which makes it hard to reach some bolts. Also referring to the ratcheting set

Cornwell wrenches are not spline its the Matco ratcheting that use spline drive. They're 12pt, and they just changed the design a few months ago so they have the extension on the box ends now.

U get more sizes with the mac set. The snap on ones skip a few sizes. They both feel about the same in the hand tho

i have always thought it was the long, zero offset, with the small socket like protrusion of the box that got the HP designation. i could be wrong.
