Good afternoon,
I may be looking for a unicorn. As in title, I need a high-perm, fire proof, insulating wall board.
I’ve got a small room I want to cool down with a mini-split to hold my pantry and my solar electronics (batteries, inverter, LiFePO4 batteries). All the contents will benefit from temperature regulation. The room has to dry to the inside.
I’m thinking of 50-60 F for the room during the solar production day to carry the contents through the night. The outside west facing wall on this rooms will 140 F in the summer (pretty good educated guess).
To manage this 80 F differential, I’ve built the entire west facing wall with 2x8 construction. Rain screen, reflective barrier, 3/4 polyiso, etc. Will be filled with dense pack cellulose.
I can’t find any insulating wall board that is both fireproof and vapor permiable for the finishing touch on this wall (and a good thermal break).
I’m not above peeling the foil off polyiso boards. edit-best I have right now is styrofoam bead boards covered in sheetrock.
Hoping you guys have some ideas of products that I can get my hands on.
thanks
