I am looking for a high quality pair of slip-joint pliers either made in the USA or Europe with soft ergo handles. Any suggestions? Does such a thng even exist? Please spare me the lecture about why I should use small Cobra pliers, etc. Have them, and they are a hassle when spinning those twist ties used to attach toys to cardboard packaging! I end up using my good old Tekton slip joints-but want to upgrade, if for no other reason just because the Tektons look ugly in a drawer full of Knipex (and a few Wera) pliers!

craftsman pros, if you can find them. they don't have super thick grips but the flush fastener pliers from wilde are top notch. epstein hardware has them.

I have both the Channelocks and the 3 position Talon Snap On's. I found the Snappy's are awesome. The extra position and the extra bit makes them worth the money. Slip joints are still Channelocks though.

I vote for the Bahco as suggested or you may want to try the KNIPEX. KNIPEX makes a comfort handle for their award winning slip joint pliers in either straight or curved, with teeth or smooth jaw ones. You will not be dissapointed with the KNIPEX! Ask Me How I know :)

Does Channelock even have regular slip joints in their Code Blue line ?
My first thought was Craftsman pro but I don't think they make them anymore.

Craftsman. Seriously please give them a look. I have white kuckled mine many a times over the years and they just don't give up. I really like that they are flush and the teeth are a good design for a variety of tasks.

Snap on 47.....I won't look at another pair again. Not only are they 3 position, the talon grip on them is amazing. I will post pics tomorro

Ive had snappy 49vacuum grip pliers since I started in 1988, and they recently started to slip, and as they have worn and not broken, are subsequently not a warranty item. So mr snappy rep has asked me to break them some how to replace them with non vacuum grip new style ones, which I have in other tool box but are not as good as my old 49s.

Hey Makapuu,

Glad to hear the TEKTON's are good ole pliers. Just a heads up, we'll have our USA made pliers available in the next few weeks. These will be a premium USA pliers, that doesn't break the bank. I took a quick sneak peek picture for you guys.

I would get another set of Facom.
181.A.18CPE or 176A.CPY if looking for a smaller set.

Or get on Ultimate Garage and look under Facom > Pliers > CPE Pliers (All)

Yeah, they have more than two positions and may not fit your definition. But the handles are better than anything ChallengedLock.

Have you considered safety wire pliers for twisting the twist ties?

I like bigger pliers. Only big one I have now is Snap On 47. The sk and channellock are smaller. I thought I had some bigger sk and chanl...but have no idea where they are.

Looking at the logo and name etching, looks like Wilde is making them. I like Wilde. Own a few Tekton tools also.

Yeah, I don't need tongue & groove (or water pump) pliers! I have enough - those in this drawer plus a set of Channellocks. You can see where the Tekton slip-joints are out of place.

Toss the Tekton in the road bag and pickup some of the new Tektons. They'll fit fine with the crowd in that drawer. :thumbup:
