Hoping to get some insight from those with experience with various high temp paints. I recently picked up a cheap metal fireplace on Offerup.
I'm pretty sure most of the nicer ones made came originally with a baked on enamel or other durable coating like that. I don't want to go to that length but I was hoping I could find something to coat it with to give it a nice new finish - and hopefully something with a bright vibrant color. Something like this:
I've had bad luck with most "high temp" paints. Tried an exhaust paint on my header and it started chipping immediately. I did find another brand that works well but it's just flat black. If I can't find a good one in a bright color then I may just opt for black and call it a day.
I stumbled on Stove Bright, they seem to have some better colors and I found a couple good reviews online. Still not a bright blue like I'm hoping though. Anyone used this paint or something else with good results? http://forrestpaint.com/stove-bright/high-temp-stove-bright-aerosols/high-temp-aerosol-paint/
