As the title states-looking to replace a oval piece of insulation for a flue clean out door. size to be approximately 11"x20" the thicker the better 1/4"? Flue temp. can get real hot as well as the fly ash caustic problem with moisture from burning damp wood. First time to be replacing same and I would expect this item to be a consumable/change every two-three years.
Does anyone here have any experience with DIY replacement gaskets(Made your own)suggestions/place to purchase/costs??? Thanks:headscrat

My dad has a wood burning stove that we refreshed a bit a few years ago when I was back home in your neck o the woods. If I recall correctly we got everything we used from Menards.

As above, you should find the gasket at the home center or stove shop. It looks like a rope and comes on reels. Get the appropriate adhesive at the same spot.
