Loctite Threadlocker Red 271

But if I didn't have it I would go without it - I think you'd be fine, a muffler is not a life-critical item.

Locktite red melts at what, 300°? How would that work on a muffler mounted right on the engine?

All the locking type exhausts I've ever seen used distorted thread fasteners for just this reason......

The other easy simple way is to double nut them, if you have enough stud length.

"It is only removable once cured by heating up parts to 500°F (260°C)."

If you're engine block is getting that hot you have other much more serious things to worry about than muffler bolts loosing! :)

I used Loctite Blue on the muffler bolts on a Stihl Bg86 hand held blower. It has worked ok. I would guess that I have put about 10 hours on it since then.
