We usually by grinders by the case. We tried everything and the best we got would be 3-4 months. We started using Hilti about 4 years ago and some of them are still running. We keep brushes on hand and keep the broken ones for parts but they are the best ones we have found.

It is on the same plane as a Metabo it all depends on how it feels in your hand. We have at least 20 of them at work as well as Metabos and Fein's and they all last about the same amount of time. This is a high quality tool. IF YOU ARE NOT USING IT PROFESSIONALLY IT WILL LAST YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I have a hard time explaining this to people but most people DON'T need a 6" Metabo in their garage at home. If you are not doing serious grinding and cutting they will all hold up.

It depends on how much you will use it. If at home or once in a while on the job It is ok
I like Miluwakee. I have used them on the construction site for years. I cut a lot of bolt ends off on forms and construction. They hold up well. Hilti is the best for 24/7 use.

I had the bigun which I used with a diamond blade for cutting flood vents in foundations. Rode like a caddy.

Sounds like its a decent grinder, I may try and pick it up. I believe I can get it for around $45, so it may be worth giving a shot.

readhead, I used to buy pricey grinders, I finally looked for cheap and the B&D at Walmart for 30 bucks is super. If you have a need for grinders buy the case take a couple of these for a spin. Its the 7750. I know it sounds wild but its worth the investigation. I scored a couple on sale for 20 a piece at Menards.

I just picked up a barely used DEG-500-D for $50, seems like a really nice grinder. It is made in Germany. Does anyone know if this is their own design or is it made for them by another manufacturer?

i think Bosch too... in the US they also offer a rebadged Makita large angle grinder. Early jig saws were from Bosch too, vacuum from Karcher iirc and they once had a rebadged Mafell circular saw. Cordless drills are made together with Panasonic.

Didn't know about the connection with panasonic. Do you happen to know the model # for the rebadged Mafell saw. Mafell tools are available in the USA but cost a fortune. Hilti actually has a store near me.

Maybe I am too low end here but I have a modern dewalt that I have used like crazy for cutting, sanding, wire brushing, etc and it has held up very well and still works great and cost less than $100
