I don't think I've seen a Hilti tool in use in thirty years.

I've seen two corded beasts used in residential construction in the last year, by two different contractors. Couple of guys replacing a driveway and porch had a big Hilton box, working for a small contractor here. Guess drilling tie point holes, but they weren't using it at the time, just open at the end of the driveway. Didn't think I could outrun them while carrying it. This one surprised me, as they looked small time.

Other one was installing an accessible ramp to a house's front door. Imagine he worked for the ramp company, but there was no truck, so maybe the other guy was fetching breakfast. Not as surprised by this one.

Actually, no I'm wrong. I just remembered that I saw an exterminator? drilling holes in a concrete sidewalk right next to a building about a year ago; he was using a large Hilti like we used for the anchor bolts. Either way, they're very rare sightings in my area as it's primarily DeWalt and the rest Milwaukee.

We use Hilti toold daily, mostly Compressed Gas, Powder and Electric (least to most) fasteners shooting into concrete and steel for Commercial metal stud framing. We get shipments from Hilti at least every other week, screws fasteners and other consumables.
Powder actuated guns are extremely durable, but they are phasing them out and going electric. Much quieter and no "need" for a certification card to operate. I'm sure we have Tens of thousands of dollars of Hilti tools on 70 plus commercial jobs in a 30 mile radius.
They do last better than most others. Expensive though. Guys buy their own screw guns they are Dewalt since they are economical for the average user. Owners that run subcontracting crews buy the fastener guns because they have the market and they last. Plus we supply the consumables.

I wouldn't have any interest in hilti if the red drills would last even a year. It seems like they really got bad when the fuel brushless drills came out.
