Hindsdale Sockets

I know they are not extremely collectible but like to hear if anyone has info on these? Alloy-Artifacts was only partially helpful, and nowhere on the web can I find an example of a milled/pressed socket like this. Pretty sure it's Hindsdale (logo?) but if anyone else can shed some light I'd love to hear - I have a 6pc set and I think they are from about the 20's?

I'm trying to determine some info on the strange shape - kind of a cross between milled and stamped. Also, "Pat Pend" would date them to some specific point. I just haven't seen anything this shape so trying to find out more . . .

I've not been able to locate that patent. It was probably never awarded/declined.

I'm going to bet that the "Pat. Pend." is referring to the ratchet that would go with it. Probably this one: http://datamp.org/patents/advance.php?pn=1425816&id=28529&set=1

Check out the rachet that came with the set. Only 7" long where the flat handle style was 9". The cool thing is all the drive plugs and screw driver bits and such were marked.
