On my Bog 202A ratchet - kissin' cousin to your Hinsdale and Twertsy's Plomb - the pawl is a machined portion of the switch (not separate like early Williams) which is threaded on the end ( tip exposed on the drive stud side). Simply unscrew the switch out of the head and you should release the the pawl ball and spring when the switch/pawl come out.
A few words of caution:
- I say "should" because I haven't completely removed the switch from my ratchet, only unscrewed it enough to confirm the threads, see it backing out, and not jamming the pawl ball on the pawl teeth while rotating the switch 360 degrees (I did make several revolutions).
- Here's a link to an earlier thread referencing a problem another poster had regarding a jammed Williams ratchet that bonneyman mentioned:

While the Williams is a little different pawl/switch design (separate pawl held on with a pin, the switch still threads into/out of the head), Ganeymede and the OP provide detailed descriptions of ways to deal with a pawl jammed on the pawl ball, just in case there's enough wear in your ratchet for that to happen. My Bog hesitated a few times but didn't require excessive force to either unscrew or screw the pawl/switch as the pawl teeth passed over the pawl ball and spring.
- Finally, be careful when removing the switch/pawl that you don't launch the pawl ball into the dark recesses of your workshop...
