I went again this week. I still have the pain occur but it seems to go away much quicker. It's like something that aches for 2-3hrs now instead of aching for a day or two.
Start doing stretches and yoga. Stretches and yoga aren't something only athletes and women do. They are necessary if you want to avoid back and muscle pain as you get older.
I don't mean to come of as an ***, but your synopsis of chiropractic care professes severe ignorance of the subject. I must admit emotions got to me quite a bit before I decided to respond. A very dear friend and my chiropractor (may he rest in peace) taught me more about chiropractic care than I ever thought I would know. I have learned much from physical therapists in the past as well - each have their place. Despite your previous statement chiropractic care in fact does address the root problem more so than medical care in a number of cases. There are certainly good and bad chiropractors just as there are good and bad medical doctors. It sounds like you have had experience with the a bad chiropractor - it saddens me that because of this you may never realize the true benefit of chiropractic care.
I don't mean to be an *** either - but it's quackery pseudoscience. Countless studies have proven it doesn't "fix" anything. It doesn't address anything. It doesn't do anything more than a good back massage would do. It's just loosening muscles up, and that's about it.

Lol they do help up to some point in reliefs but won’t fix anything long term. So start walking or stretching. As phat as I am, I can still touch my toes without bending my knees although those 5 minute a mile runs are long gone.

I like chiros.. but you gotta find a good one, there are plenty who do x-rays and all this other bs just trying to milk you of money.

I had a shoulder injury to both my shoulders at one time or another. The left was the worst, nerve pain I could only escape by sitting or lying down a certain way,.. Went to the chiro who happened to be a neighbor of mine and he adjusted me and did a tens unit then deep tissue massage. 3 visits stopped bothering me totally. I def injured the shoulder/rotator cuff tho as years later if I do something just right they bother me.
There are 2 types of chiropractors, those that know what they are doing and those that buy into all the tricks. I've seen both, mostly ones that don't know much beyond the tricks. One guy had me go over to a bench against the wall. It was pretty stiff. He said roll over towards the wall and he put a hard rubber arched block in his certain place and told me to roll back onto it.

Then he said take a deep breath and exhale slowly and try and totally relax. It took a couple of times until I was really letting go of any control and was completely relaxed when — bam! my back cracked like lightening. He never laid a hand on me. Got up and felt completely different and pain free.

It doesn't stop there. It's easy to slip back into a bad position if you are having spasms, even if you don't know you are having spasms. So therefore you have to stretch and exercise to achieve equilibrium. You'll likely have to go back and get another adjustment until you have done the stretches and exercises to the extent that you are using your muscles evenly.
