So, as usual I was browsing CL and came across this guy. I can't seem to pull much info online and just wanted to see if this smaller workbench is worth it? Of course, it would get cleaned up and restored and I hope to pay way less than listed unless its really worth it.

The picture is super blurry so I can not make out the tag/name plate. Hirsh, guy responded

Currently have a 1 car garage and this would work great for the space I have.

Thoughts? If its junk, I am not interested.

It's Hirsh and I don't know much about them other than I have one of their benches in my basement that came with my house when I bought it. I can't say it is great quality and probably wouldn't have mine if it wasn't free. From the looks of the drawers on the one in your pic, there is some work to be done.

If it's close go check it out in person and judge for yourself, but I would imagine you could do better for $100.

Yea, thats kind of my thought. It does need some work. Guy is willing to bring to meet me(both have trucks), so I may do that.

Is your flimsy? I returned two craftsman's because they were just junk and too flimsy.

Almost to the point of saying forget getting an actual tool bench and just build a 2x4 one as we don't plan on staying in our townhome for that much longer(1-2years more maybe).

It doesn't look any sturdier than the craftsman benches to me. I think $100 is too much for it in that shape. For $50 or less I think you'd be ok, if you're willing to rebuild the drawers and slides.

If you're looking for something that will stand up to heavy use, then I don't think this is it. It should be ok for light to moderate use though.

Here are the pics for any future searches. I was curious because I had never heard of Hirsh benches.

Thats what Im afraid of. I dont think I'll be doing any heavy duty stuff, but still at the same time, I want something that is decent.

Would need drawer rebuild, new top, paint etc.

Would agree, if I can get him under 50 I may consider, but not at 100

Much like Dawg69, I've got one in my basement that the previous owner left. It's alright, but in my opinion not worth more than about $25. It's kind of on the flimsy side but it's alright for light work.
