Hitachi 10.8c vs Milwaukee M12

I had a Milwaukee M12 1/4 Impact that I absolutely loved...till someone borrowed it, and let it sit in water. It ruined the im[pact and one of the batteries. Now I have one Red Lithium battery, a charger, and one of the kick *** jobsite radios.

I went to buy a bare tool and battery to replace the dead one, and ran across the Hitachi 10.8v Micro Impact and Drill kit. The specs look impressive, reviews look great, and I can buy the kit with the Drill, Impact, charger, and two batteries for about the same cost as a bare M12 Impact and one battery.

I have always liked Hitachi tools, but haven't really seen much on the 10.8v (12v) stuff. From what I can tell, the Hitachi has better specs, but is not as compact as the Milwaukee. Any opinions?

I have that Hitachi kit, and I use it more than my 18v tools. I don't have any Milwaukee to compare though

Both are good, and you might get some money back selling the job site radio, charger and battery. But the M12 has a ton more tool options then the Hitachi in the US.

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Hitachi...and will most likely buy a CPO M12 driver, and move it into the house to use for small stuff. Curious to see how the Hitachi does...

they are good tools and are pretty well made. I am just not a fan of 2 batteries system. You double up all the time, and can not shear batteries.

Two battery systems? If you mean two tools with two batteries...I ordered an extra as well.

No, I mean hitachi and milwaukee, you can not swap the batteries around.

I keep my 18v tools all bosch so I only have 1 battery system and when I add batteries, they will work on all my tools.

OK, I am with you. Since all I have remaining of the M12 is one battery, a charger, and the radio, I wasnt that worried about it.

I love my little Hitachi 10.8 driver. I find myself using it more than any other power tool I own. I also have the bosch 10.8 pocket driver and the Hitachi is probably twice as powerful. It is really one of the best tools I have ever purchased. I have purchased extra batteries and other bare tools from these guys and they have been awesome. I always but the lowest grade that they have and every time the tool looks brand new and I have never had one fail. They are the main Hitachi authorized reman seller.

Thats exactly where I ordered mine from. I ended up ordering the Hitachi 10.8 Drill/Driver combo, and the 18v LI-Ion Drill, along with a spare battery for each.

You're hooked on the green stuff. I just wish that Hitachi bring more of the 18V-slide-battery tools into US market.

Same here. I have the lithium ion slide batter 18 volt impact and drill and they are awesome. The batteries last forever it seems and it was a big upgrade over my dewalt 18 volt nicad set up.

I have an older Hitachi 18v drill/driver and the newer Li-on 12v impact driver/ drill combo. The smaller lighter set up is my go-to driver now. I find it easier to get in tight spaces and easier on aging hands and wrists! YMMV.
