Found this today at Menards, Hitachi 4 1/2 inch 5amp angle grinder $29.99.

Not that I needed another grinder but for 30 bucks couldn't pass it up and 5amps is enough for a flap disk.

They often had these at $30, but looks like this time they are on clearance. I used one with a stripping disk just last night. Real quiet and smooth compared to my bulky harbor freight one, ha. I think I'll pick up another.

I picked up five of those while they were on clearance for $29.99 and had the 11% off going a couple weeks ago! I shouldn't have to buy another for quite a while

Took it for a test drive and was able to lean on it hard and it kept spinning. Long term who knows but it will be nice to have another one on the rack when needed.

I may stop back next week and pick up one or two more.

You guys are making me broke! I ordered a used one on Amazon for $24 with free shipping. I realized I was lacking in angle grinders so I picked up a nice 11A Bosch last week. I got this one because I wanted a lighter, smaller grinder as well. Plus I think I'll like the switch on top instead of on the side. We'll see...

They are still $29.99 new on Amazon.

I believe this is the same one that Lowes had a special on about a month ago. I picked one up for $29.99 for my dad, just to find out that he already has a grinder (thought he didn't have one). I think it's back up to $49.99 now.

Comes in a hard case with "5 bonus grinding discs"

I don't believe it comes with a case - that's the issue with Amazon listing multiple different products together for review. It just comes in a box with one grinding disc.

Costco was selling them at $19.99. Ive looked the last couple times I was there and have not seen them come back, I was going to grab another. Not a barn burner, but a decent low amp grinder for $20.

Is it worth it getting a 4.5 inch 9-11amp grinder if you do a good amount of grinding as a home DIYer?

I have the Bostitch 7-amp 4.5" grinder.. bought at Walmart. More than enough power for anything I've needed it for.

I currently use the blue HF "heavy duty" one rated at 6amps and when I am using the wire brush to remove rust it slow down quite a bit.

I was wondering the same thing. I was going to get something in the 7 amp range, but I found a used (really brand new!) Bosch 11 amp grinder for $50 on Warehouse Deals so I couldn't pass it up. I haven't tested it, but it feels a little heavy and bulky. That being the case, I figured I'd pick up this Hitachi as well, in order to have something smaller for light duty stuff.

I do quite a bit of metal work, mostly welding frames out 2" sq and smaller.

I find a smaller, easier to manipulate grinder more effective. Those Hitachis are great, cheap, small, and enough power to do most task.

Here is a great New and Recon Hitachi (+other mfgs) website, good prices. Recon stuff is usually top notch.

I already have 3 angle grinders (Dewalt, Metabo, and HF), but at this price point I'm sort of tempted to add a Hitachi to the fleet. That way I could have dedicated grinders for grinding, cutting, flap wheel, and wire brush. Much easier to just grab and use rather than having to stop what I'm doing and change wheels.

Ended up cancelling the order and decided to go with the Makita due to the safety of the large paddle switch and it also included the extra grinding wheels. I was going to purchase a masonry grinding wheel anyway, so this package just seemed to be a better deal.
