Hitachi NR90 Reassembly Help

Non mechanically inclined Carpenter here.

Had to take the nose/pushing lever assembly apart to clean a bunch of rust off and now the reassembly is absolutely kicking my ***. I cannot figure out how the silver pushing lever guide is supposed to sit. Doesn't really lock in anywhere, seems like the pushing lever works when I slip the depth adjuster over it but once I start tightening the nose bolts to a certain point it all stops moving.

Anyone with experience working on these have any tips? No good Youtube vids unfortunately. Have a bunch of framing to do on Monday and would really really like to get it up and running ASAP.

It looks like you have the springs on the tang, when the parts diagram seems to suggests the spring sits in the middle of that piece, and the tang slots into something.

Yep, you nailed it! Got it back together pretty soon after the post and that was the issue. This is why I'm not a mechanic...
