Anyone with any experience with this? I've never owned hitachi but seems to have good reviews.

I don't have that set but I do have a Hitachi cordless drill, angle grinder and corder 3/8 drill and light. A girl that works for me has a Hitachi jig saw and compound miter saw. We have both been happy with their performance.

I actually have that set and it's the first cordless power tools I've ever owned . For what I use them for I am satisfied . The quality seems to be good but I was expecting longer battery life but I don't have anything to compare them to .

I had that exact set. I also had the 10.8v set as well. When I switched to Dewalt I sold them both to a co-worker and they are both still kicking.

I've had that set for about 7 years, now. And I've added a recip saw, circular saw, and recently a 1/2" impact (350-ish lb-ft rating, bigger than teh more common one). It has been a much better set than the Ridgid it replaced (drill is way out of round, has been from day 1 - Hitachi is better), and teh batteries haven't started dying, though the Ridgids Ni-Cd ones did at this age. I am very happy with it. Battery life has not been an issue for me, but I have a pair of smaller batteries (2.0 AHr?), and now a 4 that I use for the saws. Take them to the track for the weekend, and have never run even one of the smaller ones down.

Overall, I'm very happy. Great tools for a ********* DIY-er.

I have the same set as well. Bought it reconditioned almost 2 years ago. The impact still works great. The clutch on the drill has started to walk/spin when I'm using it hard. I've gotten my money out of the set for sure. You likely won't be disappointed.

Have that exact set, paid more than that a couple years ago and would do it again. Both the drill and driver haven't missed a beat. The stuff I have asked it to do has been pretty basic but the drill was a champ when I was hanging drywall on the ceiling of my garage. Took a fall or three from the top of the ladder and keeps on going. Go buy it now at that price!

I have this set and am happy with it other than the batteries die quicker than i would like. Check out bigskytool.com they sell refurbished units for less $.

I have had Hitachi cordless tools for the past ten years. Right now I am using their post style lithium tools and they have not let me down. I bought all of mine from Bigskytools. I have bought new and reconditioned stuff from them and I have never been dissatisfied.

I had a Ni-cad drive/driver set right before the Li-ion batteries broke onto the scene. Never had an issue with them and they held up well under heavy use. A friend uses this set and is extremely happy with them.

The Hitachi brand seems to be one that gets little mention, but IMO deserves more props than they get.

Love my Hitachi's that I have. I have the impact 18 volt Li-ion love it but it only came with one battery. Menards sells the battery for 69 dollars for one which is crazy in my book. Still using the one that came with it.

No kidding,I prefer Hitachi to Hilti, Bosch or any European brand.All of they're stuff I've ever used I've liked, and I've used hammer chisels, drills and angle grinders in industrial concrete repair for years. Very few tool brands seem to stand up to the abuse in that environment.I've since changed profession but I'll always like the same brands which I can rely on.I have a DV 16VSS all metal chuck impact drill which was cheap but is Japan made and awesome.

Add me to the list. I used their post style battery Lith-ion 18v set for years, abused it heavily and still sold the kit for some extra cash.

I feel like Hitachi is usually a very good buy for the money. They are not the best, but overall they perform very well and have a lower price point.

Like others have said, go check out www.bigskytools.com, great site and the Refurb'd units (and new) have always been stellar.

I have the same kit, as well as the 18v sawzall, and it's fantastic. The impact driver drives as well as any other 18v tool I own, and battery life is very good.

I own milwaukee fuel , makita brushless and hitatchi brushless impact driver/drill combos. Hitatchi is in the same ballpark with the first two mentioned. They just dont get a lot of love around here. Good tools
