Hitch for my Bobcat

Nothing too fancy, but I built a hitch for my Bobcat, so I can move trailers around. It slides over the forks, and pins on. I can put a trailer anywhere with it. We have something similar on a larger forklift at work, but I made mine to accept a Reese-type hitch, so I can swap different hitches in a jiffy.

You should stick one of those 3 ball hitches in it. Although you could probably just use the 1 7/8. youre not towing with it so as long as it fits then it shouldnt be a problem unless heavily loaded.

Is the picture deceiving or are those forks really short?

I made something similar for mine and it turned out where I put the receiver I had trouble seeing to hook up whatever I was going to tow! Oops, back to the drawing board...

Yes, the forks are really short. It's a small 310 Bobcat, and only has a rated lift capacity of around 500lbs. I made a skid to fit the forks a couple of years ago, when I roofed my house. The skid was about the size of a bundle of shingles. I only felt comfortable with 5 bundles on it at a time. It still beat carrying them up a ladder.

I was amazed how versatile a set of forks are. I didn't really think I needed them; now I use them for everything!

BTW, nice job on the receiver hitch. You'll find lots of uses for that too!
