Previously I'd only found the blah-looking grey handled HITCO screwdrivers. Finally found one with the logo stamped on the shank, and it has a sexier looking handle. I like the way they snuck the "Co." into the logo.

(In the regular (non vintage) Tools forum there is a discussion on the company: HITCO Hardware & Industrial Tool Co )

I remember seeing this thread, @Leviton, but I had never seen a driver in the wild until this morning. Not the greatest looking specimen. Used hard, including signs of a wrench on the composite handle. Not the most legible marking on the shank, either.

BTW, in reading through the other threads delving into the company history and perusing the entry in 4.c's Mfgr's Index thread, I am not sure why the original "PHILA 21" address has been so quickly dismissed. There are dozens of trade mags and directories listing the address as Philadelphia 21, the Zip Code 19021 (which embeds the older "21" postal code) is the Croydon area today, it had a manufacturing district along the Delaware, and Delanco Township, NJ, where HiT later moved, is directly across the river from it.
