I just wandered over here from the HAMB.

I never thought much about garage work because i never had much of a garage to work with. My 50 was stashed in a garage that was about to fall down (just sold the car), my 48 is stashed in a friend's garage that would be a tight squeeze for a Model A, and my last place was pretty nice, but cluttered.

We just bought a new house with a 2 car parking pad and not one, but TWO garages! One is a standard 2 car, and the other is a very large 2.5 car. An old owner of the house ran a mechanic's business out of his home, and the guy we bought the place from was a musician and he had converted the 2.5 car garage to a practice studio... so it was insulated and dry-walled by the mechanic and soundproofed by the musician. :bounce:

Both need a lot of work. Bothe have rotting wood siding and the overhead doors need to be replaced. The big one has some damage to the drywall while the smaller garage has roof leaks and water leaking from somewhere else.

The big garage came with a metal work bench, vintage lockers, a ceiling fan, and big open flame heater, but otherwise I have a clean slate to make a great workspace.

I'm taking the big garage and will stash the 48 in the smaller garage while building up the other half of that garage for my wife to have her own woodworking studio.

Pics tonight!

Oh yeah, I just moved from a ******** ghetto in Chicago, but now we're just south of The City.

Joe
