As "cheap" homeowner that works on old/obsolete/rusty equipment I am here to give a shout out to one of my favorite tools that I haven't seen mentioned or discussed at all...The HK Porter 1390PQ nut splitter! No other nut splitter can begin to compete!
While the tool is bulky, it works! The jaws do rotate to add different angles of attack to keep it useful. I challenge anyone who owns one to break this tool. I have broken countless other nut splitters and these take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. As a youngster I shop that I worked at had one of these as shop tool...I have forgotten about it until about two year ago and went on fleebay and picked one up for a deal; now it is nice to have this shop tool in my personal shop.
Does anyone else use have one/use these? Are there any other good nut splutters out there on the market?
