So I have been following the threads on the Miller 211 eBay fiasco, zoro deals, and which mig welder is best for 120 volts, etc. My situation is a little different. Looking for my first and last mig welder. I have 240 available, and do not plan on traveling with the welder. If you need something that I can weld, bring it to me and I'll be glad to help. I've taken a few CC classes on welding and have decided mig is the way to go for me for what I'm looking to do, hobbie type work, making a welding table, etc. so thoughts on the 190 would be greatly appreciated. Seems like it will do what I need to do at a fair price. Thanks...

Check out the Fortney website they are making a multi process machine that combines 190 amp mug 190 amp stick and the ability to TIG also. It comes with the mug and stick set ups the Tig torch is a separate purchase. It is 110/220 volt. It also has an auto wire speed setting. Made in Italy. The rep was in our store and thought is was the machine to buy. At a 1000.00 it seems it is a capable and flexible machine. Cost is right around 800.00 so dealers may have w little wiggle room. I prefer the digital readouts it has. I am going to pick one up at the end of next week to replace my Lincoln 140 mig 110 volt machine. I figure between this and my Ranger 8 I'll have it covered.

It's a great compact machine. Replaced their very nice 187. If you are 100% sure you will never need a 110v machine, it would be a good choice. Quite a bit of power in a smaller footprint. Although the added versatility of a compact 110/220 machine is great for not much more. If I could do it again I would go that route, probably. But back then 110/220 compact wire feeders weren't prevalent as they are today.

If you really want to purchase your last mig machine and don't need 110v portability. I might consider stepping up to a full size machine. You'll gain power, but more importantly duty cycle on the top end.
