I have a chance to purchase a Hobart Airforce 250 Plasma with the built in compressor for $500 used (prices seem to be high in Canada) and I am just wondering if these are actually any good or if I should save the pennies and purchase a thermal dynamics Cutmaster 42 or 52 from the local welding shop (they have the 42 on sale for $1000 all the time and the 52 for 1300)

The airforce is a nice little unit, sheet metal, auto body. It is very small and using the available power to compress air just reduces its cutting capacity. If you have other air supply get a bigger unit.

I do have another air supply, 5 HP, 2-Stage, 80 gallon, Techquip Compressor, I am just wondering say if I wanted to build a new car hauler if this would be enough to get the job done or if I should just save up a bit more and get the thermal dynamics from the local welding shop.
