Hobart Port A Flex welder wiring question

I have had a Hobart Port a Flex DC welder with a MIG box that sits on top. It is 3 Phase and it has been run that way for about 30 plus years. Sold the ranch and have moved to where the shop has single phase.

Was told at purchase that all you have to do is drop the the delta leg and wire it 240 single phase and it will work fine but just will not be able to crank out as many amps as on 3 phase.

I cannot find the owners manual. Looked on line but have not been able to find one.

Did you look on Hobart? I am not in office but they have manuals.

Tried that but no joy. My serial is 87WS13467

Some of it may be so obsolete they dont have it on there. I think it could be the case for some big ole gassers too. There was a spit and a aquisition, not sure exactly what happened in that window as far as he manuals went.

That is disappointing. Might have to call the 800 number to see if someone can access it and email it to you. I've always has pretty good luck with Miller customer service (same parent company).

Let me see if I can copy and post it on the Hobart. Hobart had a huge forum at one point.

Pull the side panel off many of the older units had a wiring instructions inside.
