Built by Miller. Our local farm store has 'em on sale right now for $550.00 I believe. I like my Miller 175... it welds very nicely.

I would like a 220v welder but don't really have the cash to hire an electrician on the side.

Hobart 145 Is a great welder..the first welder I bought.. It was great.. Only reason i sold it was a move to Hawaii... I will be replacing it soon. Used it daily in heavy collision work I used to do.

Yes, tough to beat, they work very well and are a great value. Nobody ever bought one regret it other than maybe should have been buying a bigger one.

I don't have a Hobart, but I do own a Miller 130XP. The Miller is a great little welder, I never had any problems with it. I have it set up with gas, I did not like the flux core wire. I would prefer a larger one for home, but I got the 130XP for free ( One of the perks purchasing for my department at work, the kick backs) :) and if I need a more powerful welder I can use my buzz box or go to work and use the welders there. I do have a Hobart Plasma at home and it an great machine.

Yes- they a great great little welder up to 3/8 or so. I have had one for over 4 years, 3 bottles 75/25, and 4 or 5 spools of wire.

I think you would be disappointed and limited with any 110V unit, unless your welding sheet metal.

I went from a Miller 35 to a Lincoln SP100. The Lincoln welded far superior to the old Miller on everything except heavy plate...3/16" or larger. It did great on everything up to 1/4" which is pretty heavy stuff for the average home shop.

I bought the Lincoln on a whim as my neighbor at a swap meet didn't like it and offered it to me for $100.00.

I converted it to gas and I really liked it. But I knew I'd have to get a larger unit for fabricating bigger stuff and I sold it for $205.00 which I used to buy my Miller 175.

I think the Hobart is a pretty good value... you could probably find one on CL at a bargain price, too.

Hobart is the way to go. Customer service is the best and parts are easy and cheap to get.

I think it is the best 110V welder out of the big three.

Lincoln welders were at the route 66 nationals and had a special track price of $737.00 For the Lincoln 180c. Plus another 10% off of that for being a U.A. member ( U.A. sponsored the event ) I did a free side job for some family who were nice enough to send me a $200.00 visa gift card. I found a 220 outlet behind my range which was converted to gas a few years ago ( something I was unaware of) SOOOOOOOOO...... Now I have some real juice. I was at the Lincoln distribution center in Bolingbrook Illinois Saturday morning and the sales rep let me try one out for about an hour. Lincoln has my vote and I'll be able to pick my welder up Friday. I should be burning some wire for theth of July!!!!!!!!

Great welder, used one to replace all the rust on my old truck, worked flawlessly, use gas of course. If it is all you can afford, buy it.

Ugg, that is not for welding 3/8" metal, that's seriously pushing it with my hh175.

HH140's work great, dad has one. I know, you bumped up. You will be MUCH happier with a 220v welder, good choice.

Honestly with Lincoln/Miller/Hobart, I think it's all personal preference. Mine is Hobart.
