Hello,

I'm looking for good quality budget jack stands made in Germany. I found some referenced in this thread:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3011907&postcount=37

It seems that Hösl Hebetechnik, LenzTools, and possibly RP-Tools all sell the same jack stand. The 3-ton one is for about 40 euros.

Has anyone used these jack stands? Do their welds and general quality inspire confidence? If possible could you compare them to the Chinese made ESCO jack stands?

I also came across some Unitec jack stands that look very similar to the ones above (Only the head is different as far as I can tell). I can't find any information regarding their country of origin, but the online reviews for them are not very good:

Does anyone know if Unitec jack stands are made in Germany and if they have the same manufacturer as Hösl/Lenz/RP-Tools?

Thanks.

I know nothing about that stuff, but I'm sure Monte does....paging Monte.

OP, might want to PM Monte and give him the link to this thread, but I'm sure he'll see it.

The Unitec stand is made of angle iron whereas the others are made of round tubing.
They appear to be more "heavy duty" than the Unitec stands. IIRC Unitec is/was sold at the "Bauhaus" stores. The coo is most likely China.
