Hofmann Lifts

So over the past few weeks I have been getting some pricing on two and four post lifts for my garage. I have been focusing on Rotary and Bendpak since they seem to be the top brands talked about on this site.

I was just recently speaking with my Snap-on rep and we started talking about lifts and he mentioned that Snap-on sells the Hofmann brand under Snap-on in the US and in Canada they sell Hofmann. I did some searching and could not find a lot of information on this forum regarding Hofmann lifts.

I would assume it would be a top quality brand if it is connected to Snap-on just I am just surprised that there is not a lot of information on GJ.

What do people think about Hofmann lifts? Is it better to stick with Rotary or BendpaK?

According to their web site, Snap-on actually owns Hofmann.

Also, if you check http://www.autolift.org/ali-directory-of-certified-lifts/browse-certified-lifts/, you will find that most of the Hofmann lifts are actually made by Challenger Lifts.

No experience with them myself, but I found this interesting.

Based on the number of responses I guess they are not a popular lift.

If I were to buy a brand new, I would buy a Gyrolift. They are the only lift manufacturer that has a jib crane option built onto the lift.

Hofmann Alignment machines I have used for years, really good quality accurate German Machines. The Lifts that came with those machines however....Garbage. I always found it so strange that the tire machines and alignment machines were built to such a high standard;but the lifts were so sub par. Now that I see they are made by challenger I understand. Buy a Rotary.

Aside from the jib crane option, what can you tell me about Girolift? They appear to be Canadian made and very robust. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

We are a Hofmann Sales and Service Rep company. Same for Rotary and Forward. You don't see Hofmann lifts very often as they are known for their aligners and tire equipment. The lifts typically are sold as part of a combo deal along with an aligner. Not sure that I have seen a 2 post Hofmann lift in our territory.
