Built my first 30x48 pole barn and installed two 30ft H beams with trolley (one front and one rear). Had an engineer at work provide me with the specs to support 3 Tons. Only ever used the front one.

Currently building a 40x64 pole barn and want to install either another beam spanning 40 feet, or some kind of swing hoist capable of lifting 2 Tons, could get by with 1 Ton. Ceiling height is 16ft and door height is 14ft. Will have two 16x14 doors on the gable end. There is a 4 foot space in the middle of the two doors.

Have any suggestions?

Been looking at Jib cranes and dang $2500 for a 13 footer with a 8 foot span and only holds 1000 pounds.

Wonder what a 40 foot 8 inch H beam would run these days. Then also need to know what it would support

Yep, crazy money. Searc my past posts for my install

Mines a 12.5' 11' reach 1 ton. Got it for free, but still spent plenty installing it with a 4x4x4 footer for it
