Hello all, I just purchased an asymmetrical post 2 post hoist. I was reading the installation instructions and it is saying to mount my post 9ft from the nearest obstruction (wall)

My question to everyone here is, if I mount it back 9ft, is there enough room to work on the vehicle in the engine compartment? Let's say I put a pick up in the garage? Does anybody have pictures of their hoist setup? How far back are you from your wall or cabinets? Pictures would be awesome too.

Thanks in advance.

I have a symmetrical and I have it centered. 11' to my work bench and 11' to the door. Pull your vehicle in, figure out where the post needs to be and go from there. I had a hard time figuring out if mine would work well centered. Pulled my truck in and did a bunch of measuring. Makes it a lot easier.

So I know it's been a while but after digging the floor up, then digging down to 10 inches, laying reebar and pouring new concrete. Over all I went 12 feet back from the wall and am very happy with the room it's going to give me when working on a car.
