I think the Milwaukee hole saw kits are great value for the money when you buy them in the kits. You can get 10-13 sizes for less than $100. Lenox makes good quality hole saws also for comparable prices.

If you need to drill a lot of holes through thick metal Carbide hole saws or annular cutters are they way to go, if you have the $$$$ for them...

Depending on what size you're looking at I would suggest the Rotacut annular cutters. They work great and are true to size. I use the hell out of mine and they wear great and hold up well.

Lenox, Starrett, Milwaukee, Hilti, and a few others, offer deecnt hole saws depending on the lineup or type. How well and long they work is mostly up to the user. Rotor broach cutters like Bsg and Zmotorsports brought up come in size from spot weld cutters up to large dia stuff. Some additional equipment might be necessary for bigger stuff ie mag drill or a special chuck for a Drill press... watch your wrist if hand drilling.

There are several types of "hole saws", those that are essentially a bandsaw blade welded into a circle and machined units with carbide teeth.

For the welded style, Milwaukee, Lenox, and a few others do a decent job but dont cut true and wear out easily.

The machined carbide tipped are excellent for higher accuracy, less fatigue, but need a more stable/rigid application. Jancy, Hougen, Norseman, and Drill Hog (USA cheap Ebay) offer good sets.

Blair RotaBroach are great. I've got the small set and larger set. Amazing how they cut compared to a regular "hole saw" bit.
