This is to consolidate three recent posts of mine regarding which hole bits to use when, a question about Fastcap Quick Mandrels, and which drill to drive them (https://tinyurl.com/y96plzea, https://tinyurl.com/y8dzua2m, & https://tinyurl.com/ych57qfl) which really shouldn't have been separate posts to begin with. Plus it will give my answer to #AntiqueCarNut for his post about right angle drills (www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310696).
Recently, I got a 1/4" shank 3pc Irwin Speedbor set and a 3/8" shank Lenox 13 pc hole saw set. In a pinch, my 3/8" corded B&D drill could drive them. But then tonight, I got in a NOS 1/2" Milwaukee 3107 right angle drill that I didn't initially know I could get for $197. It will drive the above bits plus the 7/16" shank Quick Mandrel for the larger hole saws. I will buy other 7/16" shank augers and selfeeds as I need them.
Looks like I'll get a chance to use what I have pretty soon since my son needs some low voltage wire run in his house. What great timing!
