Holiday Gift Help

My dad has a bunch of m12 tools, so I was thinking about getting him a 3/8 drive tool for Christmas. (going to get him the kit, more batteries are always good and he can always find another place to put a charger- right now he has one at work, one in the garage, and one in the truck... I think he needs one for the basement haha)

I'm trying to figure out what would be more useful as a tool since they're close in price- the impact or the ratchet.

I think there are very few places that the ratchet will fit that you can't get to with the impact, and a lot of places that the impact will be more useful than the ratchet.

Am I wrong in my thinking? Anything I could be missing?

No doubt get the impact wrench. Personally I think the ratchet is useless.

Which impact and which ratchet? I don't have an M12 impact wrench but will say that the 1/4 drive ratchet is one of my favorite tools. You have to take it for what it is but I really like mine.
