As much as I'd love to throw my hat in the ring, I'm honestly not the guy he's looking for. Between family obligations, work, and school...I just wouldn't have the time to do justice to this machine and the owners intent.

Let me go on record as saying that I want to be "that guy" that does something like this for someone else one day. Truly awesome.

Here's the ad's message, saving for posterity.
Free to a good home.
I was given this jointer by my best friends dad when I was 18. He had taken it from a dumpster behind a high school that closed its shop class down. It had been in his leaky garage for about 15 years before I received it. I had been woodworking for about a year building a small set of my own shop tools. I spent a few weeks rehabbing it and has been part of my shop ever since. It was my first real professional grade tool and helped on my way to my love of woodworking.
I want to pay what my friend's dad did for me forward to a new generation by giving this tool to a young woodworker, so they can start their own shop that might be beyond their means. Please text me if you are or know someone that fits this bill.

Thanks

I would like someone in their mid to late teens or early twenties who can show some passion for working with their hands. Please text me if you are or know someone that fits this bill.

Thanks

Update 4/20 - To clarify a few things because the response has been overwhelming. I am only in my 30s myself, maybe I am younger than I think(feel). I would like someone in their mid to late teens or early twenties who can show me their passion for working with their hands. This is not for the "young at heart" or for your kids when they get older. Not that you should not get free stuff later in life but it is just not my goal with this gesture."
