My car came out of the factory 85 years ago. It had 50 factory punched holes in the firewall. Picture 1. So I bought this Rotex punch. Picture 2. To make the weld-in plugs. Picture 3. It took a day. Picture 4 is the finished firewall.
Next time I will weld any plugs from the inside. I think this will reduce the big job of surface finishing on the outside,
I waited for 6 decades to finally get a ROTEX punch. I bought it just before covid19. I think I paid $1300. I have no regrets. I have used the Rotex for the firewall job, only. The Rotex makes me feel good, just sitting there.

nice looking job, and a good reason to buy a tool .
I saw a guy on You tube weld a coat hanger to a pc of metal & angle grind it round to fit the holes, but that would have been a lot more work
I bought a few kits on clearance @ Princess auto a year or so ago that had asst of round patches. I haven't used many of them , I bought them mainly for the step drills that were included
