NAPA/Sunex 8054 Tool Cart feedback.

Hello all,
Long time lurker here. I'm looking to move up on tool cart from single shelf cart to one like HF 5 drawer. I saw the Homak at Napa Online and was wondering if anyone has any experiences with them? I like the HF other than having to get an add on prybar cabinet for even just my regular size prybars. All feedback welcome. The Homak dimensions are similar to Matco ones I've looked at.

I have the same cart at my day job. I like it for the money. The drawers took some breaking in but after that they are fine. If you have a HF local though, their 4 or 5 drawer carts are hard to beat for what you give. I have the 4 drawer and know a lot of guys who have the 5 drawer and they hold up wonderfully!

I have a Matco full drawer cart made by Homak (says it on the handle). It's not bad for what it is.
I dont care for the internal lock bar being seperate from the key lock but it's not that big a deal.
It looks like the Napa cart doe not have the internal lock bar per picture.
Drawer slides are either 70lb or 100lb (or both) depending on the spec's.

If you have large 36" prybars the holes may need to get egged out to fit.

Thanks for the replies. My only real issue with the HF 5 drawer was that the lid wouldn't close completely with the regular prybars in the holes. I would have to add the prybar cabinet. Does the NAPA one suffer from the same thing?

Hello and welcome to GJ. That Homak bears a striking resemblance to a matco cart, we have a few of them at work. If it is the same, you should have no worries about fitting your prybars. The prybar/screwdriver holes have a few different depths, so the lid should be able to close on a prybar.

I have had one for 5+ years and love it! It supplements my main box in my home garage. Only thing I do not like is the locking mechanism which requires a key to unlock (not needed in my home garage). I would buy it again.

Does it have recessed prybar/screwdriver holes for longer handle prybars so that you can still close the top? I read it has a key locking mechanism for drawers and top.

The local NAPA that stocks them didn't have one up for display. I'll try a different one today.

This Sunex cart looks pretty good and exactly like the popular Matco ones. About the same price as the NAPA/Homak one.

I have checked out the NAPA carts; pretty decent if you can get them for $299, most are $339 or $379 depending on which ones you look at. I would keep checking Craigslist for deals, I got a 2 month old Mac cart of better quality for $250 in lime green bout a month ago.

Thanks for the replies! The Napa one they have in stock is the $339 one but not on display. The Napa and Sunex both look good and roughly the same price. Just hard buying sight unseen on something I'll use daily.

As promised. I tried to take some detailed pictures showing the construction. My overall impression was that it's not overly impressive. I wouldn't trade in my used HF 5 drawer for this one new, but I do NOT have a trained or experienced eye for these things.

I don't care for the lock bar running down the middle of top. The Sunex has the lock lever in the back. Napa one doesn't have the different level prybar are to accommodate long handle prybars. I'm passing on the Napa one. Thank you very much. You're the man.
