Here's a pic of my two Competition Orange boxes from a few weeks ago. I'm quite happy with them.

Those look awesome! Two 72's!? What are you doing with that much space? :D

Man that orange and green is starting to grow on me

The orange is awesome, I love it. I got a few cool pics while at work and then had my box at my folks house for about a week, doing a bunch of work on my dads truck (Front axle etc) I rolled over to see the dog perfectly from underneath my box. Turned out to be kind of a cool pic.

Well, I got 'em because I ran out of space to put my tools. I thought I would have room to spare, but they're both already full and I have some overflow...

I've had mine for 7 almost 8 months now, used at work just about everyday. Not much to say about it, I'm pretty easy on my stuff and wipe it as well as my tools down often. I push it around a little bit throughout the week but not usually far, just between bays or sides of the car, so its mostly stationary. Its been good and as you said they're great looking. My only complaint and it's not a fault of the box, but one of the bays near the front of our shop is way out of level and if I work out of that bay and have my box at the front doing anything under the hood, the drawers "roll" forward before stopping on the latch mechanism and when you go to open it, the mechanism has tension (weight) on it and it kinda ***** to open. If I remember to push the drawer fully closed again before trying the handle, works like a charm, but I obviously forget that pretty much all the time. I think I only paid 1050 or 1100(?) shipped for mine and love it. The worktop is my favorite part, but I know some will stack them or prefer butcher block/rhino liner tops. The stainless still looks good minus the obvious wear. Solid box at the 1000/1100 price range.

Been trying to find a 72" i could put my hands on with no luck.

I did find what seems to be a decent deal on a 41" combo set, but it's just way too small. 4171c14a650bc2ee66e2bec0d3d05fc7.jpg

I decided against the power 72" blue power strip for my setup. Anyone around Indianapolis/Cincinnati/Dayton who would like to purchase, send me a message please. I expect both packaging and shipping would be excessive. I ordered the royal blue, rather than the light blue which was displayed earlier in this thread.

Location?

They're currently $1500 shipped direct from Homak.

The 41" will tuck away nicely in my garage.

Would you guys rate these on par with the Craftsman Pro Series boxes of a couple years ago? My local Sears still has one priced at $1350. Similar drawr latches.

Ended up ordering a 41" combo direct from Homak. Took exactly 7 days from order placed to delivered.

Certainly nicer than the Series 2 US General box and the 3000 Series Craftsman boxes I was looking at.

Edit: My box did arrive with some minor damage. It appears that someone hit the swivel casters with a forklift fork. Homak was quick to respond to my issues, but I'm currently still waiting on replacement parts and for them to issue the credit they've promised.

So my box arrived last Friday(9/20). I shot them an email that night and hammered out a resolution on Monday(9/23). Got an update that my replacement parts won't ship till this coming Monday(9/30). That's a bit frustrating.

Still no replacement parts or the refund promised from Homak. I'll be calling first thing Monday morning to sort this out. I've had this damaged box for over two weeks now. This is beyond absurd.

Just so you know I ordered additional drawer parts from Homak and it took about 3 weeks to arrive. I would describe them as slow.

Talked to someone at Homak and was told I'd receive a call back from the person I'd been emailing with. No call back, but I did receive an email stating that the credit would be followed up on and that I'd receive a tracking number today..

I doubt I'll be doing any more business with Homak.

Why would 24 inches deep be disappointing? Isnt the 72 inch harbor freight only like 18 or 20 inches deep?

Credit issued. Still no tracking number or parts. I'm at four weeks from the date I ordered the tool box and I still can't load or use the damn thing because of the damaged casters.

It must be an absolute circus at Homak. Tracking number promised on 10/8 was finally received on 10/12 and goods were promised to ship on 10/2 second day air UPS. Still no movement on the tracking number.

This box has been sitting in my garage with damaged casters since Sept. 20th. It's now October 17th.

After another email on Thursday the tracking finally shows movement. I'll have a delivery tomorrow. Hopefully it contains everything that was agreed upon.

Yeah I'm gonna say if you know you're a picky consumer might be best to shy away from Homak.

I'm enjoying my 72" box but it had damage that would cause many here to lose sleep.

I understand caster damage can be particularly problematic if the box rocks or doesn't sit level, however.

I agree none of us should have to accept damaged goods but it's also what your time is worth vs trying to buck an imperfect system. So, the solution might be avoid the risk and buy elsewhere, for those still contemplating purchases.

I'm understanding. I get it, **** happens, but what makes or breaks a company is how they respond when something like this does happen.

Having to wait more than 30 days since I took delivery for replacement parts is not how you treat a customer. I wouldn't of even bothered contacting Homak had the box arrived with just the minor scratchs and dents, but it's not like I can go out and get matching casters at Harbor Freight.

Here's the worst one.

When I ordered an extra drawer rail it took a month to arrive. Led me to believe they don't stock parts stateside and don't spend good money on shipping from the source. Still happy with the box purchase, just wish there was a hutch for the short box.

I’m sorry, but at this point I’d be up their *** for a full refund. Waiting this long for casters is unacceptable.

Casters arrived. They sent a full set, though I only requested the two swivel casters which had damage.

So to recap:

I've received the credit and casters, I was also promised an extra set of drawer slides. Those have yet to show up. I sent a follow up email last night.

Also, the sale price has gone up on the 41" combo. It's now $1,600.

I’m sorry, but at this point I’d be up their *** for a full refund. Waiting this long for casters is unacceptable.

James

Had there been another similar option available from someone else I would have.

This box checked all the boxes for me. It will most certainly be my last purchase from Homak though.
