I'm picking up a US General 44" box from HF today. I want a stainless top for it for a number of reasons and I've found this Homak top that I'm hoping will fit. It's advertised as 41 x 22 which is pretty close to the dimensions of the box top but it's going to be close so I'm hoping someone has one of these tops and can confirm the exact dimensions.

I considered making one but by the time I buy a hardwood top, and a sheet of stainless that size, I won't be saving much and I'll have to bend and weld it myself. I don't have a bender large enough so I would have to jury-rig something and I question my ability to tig stainless that thin without a mishap.

Thanks in advance.

41in is pretty close to 44in???
The HF box isn't actually 44" long. That's some marketing **** they do by including the handle. The exterior dimension is just less than 42" and the space where the benchtop would fit inside the flange on top is about 41-1/2". I'm not worried about the width as much as the depth. The box is exactly 22 inches deep (exterior) and the space on top is only about 21-13/16".

If the Homak top is a true 22" deep, it'll be too big by a scoshe and I'll have to trim something, somehow. I could just cut the little tabs off the front of the box but I'd rather not if I don't have to.
