I'm looking to build a flat bed/flat deck for my truck. Read a few forum DIYS and stuff. My main concern is my truck is lowered, not entirely slammed but pretty low.

Trying to work out how much clearance I need to have to avoid my tire rubbing the underside of the bed, any help and input on your own flat deck experiences and help with clearance issues would be greatly appreciated.

Truck is a 98 chevy 1500 with axle flip, c notch, cargo bags, lowering shackle.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a lowered flat bed. I'm with NKlamerus we need pictures.

I have a flat bed on my F350. I have almost 9" between my flat bed and my tire at normal ride height. I can still just barely rub, if I flex it out. It is fairly rare and only happens if I am offroad, probably not an issue for you. I would go distance from axle to bumpstop + 2" above the tire.

Measure the distance from your bump stops to the axle.

Plus make allowances for situations where one wheel is up on a rock and the other is down in a ditch. Also allow for chains in the winter or slinging mud and slush in off pavement situations.

even if it is lowered the bed would still go in the same place as if normal ride height, due to the height on top of the frame
